Rai Bahadur Tara Chand Kshetrapal

Rai Bahadur retired district superintendent of police. He was born February 1 1890 S/O shri Ramnarayan and Smt Devki Rani. He was educated at Forman Christian College Lahore. Passed the training from the police training collage, Sagar and joined the Madhya Pradesh police services. Stood first in law and was awarded a Sword of Honour. He was appointed DY SP 1927; was city superintend of police Nagpur 1934-39, was awarded Kings Police Medal, Coronation Medal and Silver Jubilee Medal for gallantry, was awarded a rifle and a Sanad by the Gwalior state; D.S.P Wardha 1940-42. D.S.P C.I.D; Nagpur Superintend Police, Railway Branch, Raipur, was appointed Inspector general of Police, Rewa, but did not join on grounds of health. He retired in 1945. He was popularly known for his bravery and original plans for detecting crimes. Last years of his life he spent at Pachmarhi picturesque hill station in Madhya Pradesh.

He passed away in 1964 and was honored with a 21 gun salute by the State Police. To this day his Samadhi adorns in Pachmarhi. He was an officer known for his honesty integrity and hard work.
